"serious number" would be, say 8+ servers. yes, I would get someone to help me mess with 8 servers. the point is simply that most rails are quite fiddly - it helps a lot to have someone on either side to get tab a into slot b. as you say, en-railing a 1U isn't that hard for a single healthy strapping male geek ;) (also, I agree that the clumsiest level is shoulder-ish high...)
