[Beowulf] hpl size problems

Yeah, but you've probably GOT a sucker rod left over from those days in
your garage or office, or at least your uncle surely does.  You
therefore probably have some of the best behaved users anywhere.  I just
keep a 22 oz hammer on my desk...;-)
