Thanks to all for their comments and observations. It appears to have saved me a few hours of monkey around that would have yielded little if any benefit. Interesting when combined with the previously mentioned poll on the most common cluster size. If performance issues like SSH v's RSH only become a factor at, say, 1000+ nodes then it appears that they're a mute point for most of us. I greatful that there are people out there that have been there, done that. This list is gold :) Rest assured this bleeding edge cluster of mine is burried deep within a granite mountain, surrounded by 50 highly trained, elite troops with black german sheppards that have had their vocal cords surgically removed so they can't bark and give away their impending attack... Ummm.... No, there's no external access to this cluster unless you're in the same room. There's no substitute for *physical* security! :) If I'm attacked by script kiddies they'll fall for the "honey pot" instead (the beer fridge ;) Cheers Stevo This message was sent through MyMail http://www.mymail.com.au
