GGF's Second Telecom Focus Session, June 21, 2004 GGF has selected Supercomm2004 (McCormick Place, Chicago) as the venue for its second telecom focus session. This meeting will continue the discussions started at GGF10 in Berlin where several large telecom providers, vendors, and researchers met to explore the impact of grid computing on telecommunication companies. The two primary focuses of the meeting will be: - Business value of grids in multiple vertical markets - Requirements for Grid Services: Telcos as suppliers of commercial grid services. This meeting is free but you must RSVP to Steve Crumb (scrumb at ggf.org) prior to June 4, 2004. The Global Grid Forum (GGF) is a community-initiated forum of thousands of individuals from industry and research, leading the global standardization effort for grid computing. GGF's primary objectives are to promote and support the development, deployment, and implementation of grid technologies and applications via the creation and documentation of "best practices" - technical specifications, user experiences, and implementation guidelines.
