[Beowulf] performance differences between distros?

Really excellent point and suggestion.  No, but after I get back from
vacation if you remind me I'd be happy to run some.  I can kickstart
install some hardware in about 20 minutes -- it isn't too difficult to
run longitudinal studies like this.  Or I can refer this note to Jeff
Chase, COD-man, as this is a core capability of COD except that it ought
to take less time to reboot nodes (after more time to prepare to reboot
them).  He might have a student who could add this to a current project
agenda, as this is one of the several fundamental purposes of the
toolset and it is good to demonstrate it.  Or he may already have such a
website.
