64bit PCI NIC?

Does a 64bit PCI NIC like the adaptec DuraLAN offer any kind of
performance benefit int latency or bandwidth then say a tuplip or intel
card?  We are looking into the cards and were wondering what other peoples
experiences are with them.  If anybody has number on them I would be happy
to see them.  Thanks
