Dear Colleagues: During 1996-97 when I was working in C-DAC (http://www.cdacindia.com), India, I was tasked to write a book on: The Design of PARAS Microkernel The PARAS Microkernel operating system was core of C-DAC's PARMON 9000 MPP based supercomputer. I was aiming to write a full book on this, but during 1997 C-DAC changed its system architecture to Clusters; thereby whole group focus was shifted to Cluster Operating Environment etc. So, there was not much demand for such document, I stopped writing on it. However, although it is incomplete, I thought it will good to make it online for the benefit of those interested in learning about Microkernel Operating Systems and made it online. You can find this millennium online microkernel book at: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~rajkumar/microkernel/ All chapters are put both in PS and PDF format. If you have any comments on any topics presented in the book, please let me know. I hope you will find this microkernel book useful. Best wishes Raj PS: We even attempted to port this Microkernel to Workstation Clusters!
